Description

Columbia’s PFG line is loved by everyone, but specifically designed with anglers in mind. Its comfort and functionality make this Columbia Women’s PFG Bahama II Long Sleeve Shirt a first choice for enjoying a day out on the water and in the sun. The high quality materials used to craft this women’s fishing shirt are what make it so special, while its modern classic fit and colors provide style and comfort.

The Bahama II Long Sleeve fishing shirt features some of Columbia’s best sun protection technology to help prevent skin damage while outdoors. The fabric is crafted of UPF 30 to protect against harmful UVA and UVB rays, sunburns, and long-term skin damage. The mesh-lined back vents add breathability to the shirt to ensure comfort even when things get hot; the 100% nylon fabric is lightweight and dries quickly to keep you cool. Lastly, this long sleeve shirt’s utility features make fishing life a little easier with a rod holder, multiple low-profile pockets, and adjustable roll-up sleeves.

Columbia’s long sleeve fishing shirt comes in many size categories and in feminine colors as well. To ensure the size you choose is right, utilize our sizing chart and the following measurement instructions: For the sleeves, start at the center back of your neck and measure across the shoulder and down to the sleeve. If you come up with a partial number, round up to the next even number. For the chest, measure at the fullest part of the chest, under the armpits and over the shoulder blades, keeping the tape measure firm and level.

Handy pockets and helpful performance features combine with simple styling and clean lines to deliver a hard-working fishing shirt fit for the discerning sportswoman. The Women’s Bahama Long Sleeve is vented to facilitate airflow so you stay cool on hot days. Long sleeves and built in UPF 30 sun protection shield you from harsh UV rays, so you can stay outside and enjoy the warm summer weather for as long as your heart desires. When the temperature rises, roll the sleeves for a little extra fresh air.

Omni-Wick Advanced Evaporation

Omni-Wick is the ultimate moisture-management technology for the outdoors. Its superior wicking properties move moisture away from the body and enable perspiration to evaporate quickly. During physical activity, increased body temperature causes perspiration (you know: sweat). Normally this results in damp, clammy, and uncomfortable clothing (not to mention unattractive).

With Omni-Wick clothing, moisture is quickly wicked up into the fabric, and away from the wearer’s skin. The moisture spreads out across the surface of the fabric where it quickly evaporates. This wicking/evaporation process keeps the wearer cool and the clothing dry. You stay dry, which helps regulate temperature, prevent chafing and keep you comfortable all day. Work up a sweat without getting all wet.

Omni-Shade Sun Protection

Columbia Sportswear’s Omni-Shade clothing protects you by blocking the majority of the sun’s harmful rays so you can stay out longer. It’s like sunscreen that you don’t have to re-apply–and it’s as easy as getting dressed. Omni-Shade blocks UVA and UVB rays, helping to prevent sun burn and long-term skin damage through a tight weave construction, UV reflectors, and UV-absorbing technology.

Current consumer awareness centers around Sun Protection Factor, or SPF, which is a measure of sunburn reduction from sunblock. However, SPF does not indicate any protection from UVA rays, which are harmful and present even on cloudy days. Like sunblock, Omni-Shade is given a numeric value to indicate its level of sun protection.

About Columbia Sportswear

Founded in 1938, Columbia Sportswear Company has grown from a small family-owned hat distributor to one of the world’s largest outerwear brands and the leading seller of skiwear in the United States. Columbia’s extensive product line includes a wide variety of outerwear, sportswear, rugged footwear and accessories. Columbia specializes in developing innovative products that are functional yet stylish and offer great value. Eighty-year-old matriarch Gert Boyle, Chairman of the Board, and her son, Tim Boyle, President and CEO, lead the company.

Columbia’s history starts with Gert’s parents, Paul and Marie Lamfrom, when they fled Germany in 1937. They bought a small hat distributorship in Portland, Oregon, and named it Columbia Hat Company, after the river bordering the city. Soon frustrated by poor deliveries from suppliers, the Lamfroms decided to start manufacturing products themselves. In 1948, Gert married college sweetheart Neal Boyle, who joined the family business and later took the helm of the growing company. When Neal suddenly died of a heart attack in 1970, Gert enlisted help from Tim, then a college senior. After that it wasn’t long before business really started to take off. Columbia was one of the first companies to make jackets from waterproof/breathable fabric. They introduced the breakthrough technology called the Columbia Interchange System, in which a shell and liner combine for multiple wearing options. In the early 1980s, then 60 year-old Gert began her role as “Mother Boyle” in Columbia’s successful and popular advertising campaign.

The company went public in 1998 and moved into a new era as a world leader in the active outdoor apparel industry. Today, Columbia Sportswear employs more than 1,800 people around the world and distributes and sells products in more than 50 countries and to more than 12,000 retailers internationally.
